A word about the church of Christ
Who Are We?
During his earthly ministry, Jesus promised to build His church (Matthew 16:18). This promise was fulfilled 50 days after His resurrection when He sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles whom He had chosen and three thousand people obeyed the Gospel. The Lord Himself added to the Church those who were thus saved (Acts 2:47). They belonged to no Protestant or Catholic denomination. They had embraced no doctrine of human origin. They were just Christians and together made up the Lord’s Church.
Our aim is to preach and to follow in all of its purity this same inspired teaching, which can be found today in the New Testament. This word still has the power to save men from sin, and the Lord still faithfully adds them to His church, which is His body and of which He is the Savior (Ephesians 5:23).
